What options are available to allow me to control my home’s power usage via phone?

I'd like to be able to (for example):

• turn off/on lights
• control major power consumers (heating/air conditioning)
• monitor power usage
• check status of electronic locks/security systems

And other things that this might be useful for.

Insteon have a wide range of products including HVAC, lighting, power, and sprinkler modules. They also have various modules for PC integration and there are a few iPhone apps to control it all. Apparently MobiLinc Pro can control both Insteon and X10 systems.

iPhone Home Controller works with X10. I've been warned off (link to my own site) because of the flakiness of X10.
