I have to assume that the Soviet’s labeled there ammo crates as thoroughly as the US did. What word or symbol did they use on their ammo crates to indicate that the round were on clips?
According to this resource that cites a Red Army reference book published in 1946 the crates were identified as usual except that they had a label in clips (в обоймах in Russian).
